WPAS Priorities are grouped into three large issue groups;

Abuse and Neglect Issues 

Priority Statement (Pierce): WPAS will address, in part, the problem of inadequate community mental health services which includes, but is not limited to,  the problem of service and support  fragmentation and lack of coordination when person with disabilities move from one residential setting to another.  Funding: PAIMI, PATBI, & PADD.  

Priority Statement:  WPAS will help protect and advance the quality of disability related law.  And WPAS will help assure the legislative process is accessible to persons with disabilities and disability rights perspectives are available to policy makers.  Funding: PADD, PAIMI, & PAIR 

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address, in part, the failure of domestic violence and sexual assault systems to appropriately serve people with disabilities.  Funding: WSCADV, WCSAP, & PADD

Priority Statement: WPAS will address, in part, the failure of public entities to stop and respond to imminent harm from abuse and neglect.  Funding:  PADD & PAIMI

Priority Statement (Rust): WPAS will address, in part, the failure to provide adequate treatment, care and discharge for persons receiving forensic services at Western State Hospital.  Funding: PAIMI

Priority Statement (Allen):  WPAS will address the Department of Social and Health Services' (DSHS) failure to provide adequate community services, and treatment, care and discharge for people with developmental disabilities and mental health needs.  Funding: PADD & PAIMI  

Priority Statement:   WPAS will address, in part, DSHS' failure to provide adequate treatment, care and discharge for persons with brain injuries at Western State Hospital.  Funding: PATBI

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address, in part, issues specific to children in the mental health system.  Funding: PAIMI

Priority Statement:  WPAS address, in part, issues specific to older adults in the mental health system.  Funding: PAIMI

Community Issues

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address, in part, problems related to employment experienced by persons with disabilities.  Funding: PABSS

Priority Statement:   WPAS will address the problem of inadequate access to assistive technology for Medicaid/Medicare beneficiaries and special education students.  Funding: PAAT  

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address, in part, the problem of inadequate supports & services in the community.  Funding:  PADD  

Priority Statement: WPAS will address, in part, the insufficient amount of appropriate community services for people with brain injuries.  Funding: PATBI & PAIR

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address, in part, the problem of inadequately funded, poor quality and unreliable personal assistance, crisis and respite services.  Funding: PAIR

Discrimination Issues 

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address the need for greater lay and self-advocacy capacity.  Funding: PAIR, PADD & PAIMI

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address, in part, the need for culturally competent supports and services for persons with disabilities who currently are un-served or under served.  Funding: All

Priority Statement :   WPAS will address, in part, problems persons with disabilities are experiencing related to the criminal justice system.  Funding: PADD, PAIMI & PATBI

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address the need for improved accessibility in voting systems.  Funding: PAVA 

Priority Statement: WPAS will address, in part the problem of housing discrimination.  Funding: PAIR

Priority Statement: WPAS will address, in part, problems with special education.  Funding: PADD

Priority Statement:  WPAS will address, in part, the failure of guardianship and other surrogate decision making systems to effectively protect rights and honor choices.  Funding: PAVA & PADD
